The Green Hornet is a fictional character that came to life through radio and comics. He got his start in radio in the 1930′s. His real character became prominent through film in network serials in the 1940s.

The Green Hornet by day is Britt Reid a millionaire newspaper publisher and popular media figure. By night, Reid assumes the identity of The Green Hornet a fearless crime fighter. He teamed with his trusty sidekick Kato and secretary Lenore “Casey” Case to keep the city streets free from crime and protects the citizens. Kato created the awesome 1966 Chrysler Imperial car they called the Black Beauty to travel around in to fight crime at night.

It was not until his character was revealed on film that his attire was made known to the public. There are many great variations of the Green Hornet costume that can help any adult create this character for themselves for Halloween, costume parties, or any other time of the year.

There are a couple variations of the Green Hornet costume available for this Halloween. The basic thing to understand is how the hero dressed. Like many heroes of that time, he wore a white dress shirt with a tie, dress pants, a jacket, vest, a mask, and a classy hat.

The most complete costume comes with a jacket, shirt front, pants, vest, and mask leaving you to add the Hat and Shoes. This costume is very clean looking, even having the tie tucked in through a neat vest in the dark almost black green color that he wore. Others costumes include just the jacket, hat, and eye mask leaving it up to you to add a white shirt, tie, pants, and shoes. It is also important that you get the right extras to complete the look.

The Green Hornet wears green pants but a pair of black slacks may do well. The important parts of the costume, the fedora hat, the mask, and the jacket must be green. The Black Beauty, The Green Hornet’s Car built by Kato was a showpiece in the series and movie.
